Australians purchased a record-number of new cars in 2015. The new record of 1,155,408 beats the previous record set in 2013 by 1.7%.

 

The key message is that record car affordability, low interest rates and a stronger job market are serving to drive vehicle sales. Buyers are jumping into new models and whilst luxury vehicles sales have hit record highs, Toyota Corolla still dominates the pack in 2015.


 

Australians purchased a record-number of new cars in 2016. The new record of 1,178,133 units beats the previous record set in 2015 by 2%.
The Toyota Hilux dominates sales, selling 42,104 units, to top the national vehicle sales chart. 

 

The Ford Ranger is Australia's biggest selling vehicle across the entire market. Ute sales are strong but passenger car sales continue to fall and even SUVs dropped. Having said that total new vehicle sales were just over 100,000 units.
